its just such a good deal! what should i do? should I call them and try and sort things out and try it?

Not only might they be gray market cameras, but the really unethical ones will tell you that the camera doesn’t come with a battery or charger or any number of other things that it needs to work. They’ll sell them to you at an exorbitant price, or if you don’t agree to thay’ll suddenly tell you that the camera is out of stock. Read resellerratings.com and you’ll see the same story over and over again.

Go to the Nikon website and look for authorized retailers. If you are looking for a bargain, you might check Cameta camera. They sell a ton of Nikon’s refurb and demo models at very reasonable prices.

If you’re looking for something versatile, I would suggest the Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 lens.
But if you’re just getting into photography and want something cheap that will still get the job done, I would recommend getting the kit lens (the camera + 18-55mm lens).

The 18-55mm kit lens that comes with most D60 cameras is a great start. My suggestion for the next optic would be the Nikon 55-200mm vr (vibration reduction). Together, you’ll have a very nice 18-200mm range that covers most of what many photographers need.

I’d also look at an SB-400 or SB-600 flash to compliment your camera as either will help you capture indoor photos with more flattering lighting and greater range than the built-in flash can.

It’d be great for the converters to be under 100 and the lenses to be under 250, if possible.

I haven’t heard of a fisheye converter for standard lenses and couldn’t find one after a quick search online. The only ones I could find were for compact cameras so I wouldn’t be too confident that such a thing exists for SLR lenses.
The next problem is that the fisheye lens designed for cameras with an APS-C sensor like yours is a Nikon and costs £500+ here in the UK. Maybe you could find one 2nd hand. Important to look for the 4.5mm one as the 10.5mm on your camera would not be true fisheye, just a wide angle lens.
Hope that someone comes along with better news.

Now the D60 doesn’t have the proper couplings for AI metering. So in order to use the built in light meter you’ll need lenses that are equipped with a Matrix Metering CPU. This includes all varieties of "AF" lenses as well as AI-p models. Furthermore this body doesn’t have a built in motor like older (or higher end) Nikons, and so instead the autofocus system relies on a dedicated motor built into the lens itself. Either "AF-I" or "AF-S", or a third party equivalent like Sigma’s "HSM".

For lenses that support light metering you must always set the aperture on the body; It will not let you use the light meter if the ring on the lens is set to anything other than the smallest aperture setting.
